FOCUSING ON HER features three female musicians — Amirtha Kidambi (Indian-American, voice/saxophone), Yoko Reikano Kimura (Japan, shamisen), and gamin (Korea, saenghwang) — improvising and performing music by female composers: Amirtha Kidambi (Indian-American), Yoko Sato (Japan), and Yoon-Ji Lee(Korea), with visual projection designed by Bang Geul Han (Korea). Each of the compositions is a prayer or elegy for those who endure or have endured trauma.

Duo YUMENO will perform at a reception held by the Consulate General of Japan in New York in honor of the newly appointed Japanese Honorary Consulate General in San Juan on Wednesday, March 1st.
On the same day, the duo are also presenting a lecture & demonstration at the University of Puerto Rico at 11:30 AM.
The program will include classical koto music with singing and duo pieces – Daron Hagen’s “Cavatina” and Thomas Osborne’s “Kyuten” – as well as a surprise encore that we are preparing especially for the event!
