Duo YUMENO and Marty Regan (composer, shakuhachi) will have a concert presented by Los Andes University in Bogota, Columbia. For this concert, the duo will perform classical Japanese music, Japanese composer, Sayaka Ichigoro’s work and several works by Marty Regan including their commission piece.

Duo YUMENO will perform for the first time at the Eagle Hill Institute in Steuben, Maine. The concert, which explores the dialogue between classical Japanese and western music, will feature works by Daron Hagen, Marty Regan, Takuma Itoh and J. S. Bach.

Duo YUMENO will be back in Blue Hill, Maine, presenting a concert at the Performance Hall at Bagaduce Music Lending Library. The diverse, cross-cultural program will feature works by Daron Hagen, Elizabeth Brown, Takuma Itoh, Marty Regan, Sayaka Ishiguro, Kin’ichi Nakanoshima and J. S. Bach.

Duo YUMENO will have a recital at the First Congregational Church in Camden, ME.

Duo YUMENO will perform their commission piece, Daron Hagen’s “Appassionato” at The Emigrants concert. The Queens Museum presents the world premiere of a new documentary chamber music work, The Emigrants by composer George Tsz-Kwan Lam. The Emigrants will be premiered by the ensemble New Morse Code (Hannah Collins, cello and Michael Compitello, percussion). Duo YUMENO and Raphael Leal (percussionist), who are featured on the recorded interviews that are part of The Emigrants, will be also joining this concert. Admission is free, and this event is open to the public.

Duo YUMENO – koto/shamisen player Yoko Reikano Kimura and cellist Hikaru Tamaki – will celebrate its tenth anniversary in a concert featuring the world premiere performance of a commissioned work by the prominent Japanese composer, Toshi Ichiyanagi. The concert will also feature works by Daron Hagen and Marty Regan that seamlessly blend Eastern and Western traditions. Japanese shamisen player, Shōho Mutoh will join Kimura in a virtuosic, improvisational rendition of the classic Japanese masterwork, Shin-sarashi.

IMJS celebrate the cultures of Heian and Heisei Eras with a concert presenting music Lady Murasaki describes in her 11th-century novel The Tale of Genji, (in collaboration with the current exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art) and the 2019 Sung Waka Poetry by the Retiring Emperor and Empress of this Heisei Era from their January New Year Poetry Celebration. This concert is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Kimura will play “Chidori no Kyoko” composed by Yoshizawa-kengyo, and Duo YUMENO’s commission piece. For more details, please visit IMJS website.

The first of the 10th Anniversary septet concerts presented by Kyo-Shin-An Arts. World premieres by Daron Hagen and James Nyoraku Schlefer. (Cassatt String Quartet: Muneko Otani and Jennifer Leshnower, violins; Ah Ling Neu, viola; Elizabeth Anderson, cello) For this concert, Kimura will perform shamisen.
